The Media is So Dumb

Delaware media is so dumb sometimes.  Last night, when reporting on the primaries results, the reporter said something very similar to (I’m not always great on exact quotes):

“Republicans are stunned that Tea Party favorite, Christine O’Donnell, won the Republican primaries.”

Umm…hello?  The republicans are the ones who voted her in.  Maybe the Mike Castle campaign is stunned, but most of the republicans actually voted for O’Donnell, so I don’t think they are “stunned.”  Yes, she was the underdog, and yes, she was listed as a “long shot” in last week’s news, but obviously she was favored over Castle.  Get a clue, media.

O’Donnell would have benefited from an actual acceptance speech, rather than just talking off the top of her head, but that also might have been the media slant.  They don’t like her.  She is endorsed by the Tea Party, and is supported by Sarah Palin, who even helped in her campaign.  It’s obvious why they wouldn’t like her.  So, it’s highly possible that they just showed the worst part of her speech.  I hate it that they do that.  But whatever.

  1. I’m gonna take a guess and say that what they meant was that the Republican Party was stunned that she won and not that republicans were.

  2. Yeah, you’re probably right, Sara, but still…. lol It was rather funny.
