The Christmas Tree Adventure

Last Saturday, Matt and I went shopping for a tree.  We normally get our tree from the same guy, but this year, we were looking for a specific kind of tree (we had it one year and loved it).  We knew of two other tree places (besides the normal Wal-Mart tree lot – that’s really all they have around here besides the locally owned tree lots), so we headed out to check them out.  Only here’s the problem.  We got all the way up to Dover and still hadn’t come across the tree lots.  Ummm….I think we turned the wrong way.  Oh well, since we made it all the way to Dover, we might as well make it worth our while.  We had lunch, went shopping at Wal-Mart (which was slightly annoying because we have a Wal-Mart only 10 minutes from our house).  A couple of hours later, we finally head back down toward home.  It’s starting to get dark at this point, but we finally found the tree lots and ended up buying a tree at the second one, which ironically was only about 10 minutes from our house.  We got a really good deal on the tree, but when we went to pay for it, found that the ATM had gypped us $20.  Oh, brother.  🙂

By the time we left with our tree, it was dark and the Christmas lights were being turned on.  We drove around to see some really great displays.  Unfortunately, Matt didn’t get the lights put up on the house, so I guess we’ll be keeping tradition and putting them up on the 23rd.  🙂

Our tree is beautiful and still sitting on our porch.  🙂  At least it will be up for sure by Saturday night!  And it’s snowing today!  Hoping we get enough and it lasts for a white Christmas.
