Clearanced Clearance Items

The other night after/during a nice date, Matt and I went to Wal-Mart to, as he put it, “peruse the clearance section.”  🙂  While we were in the store, checking out all the hot spots for clearance, an announcement came over the loudspeaker announcing that clothing and shoe clearance was 50% off marked prices and the other clearance was 75% off marked prices.  Now, that’s what I call clearance.  We spent a total of $50 (all clearance items) and look at some of the stuff we got!

2 Creosote Sweeping logs, belt sander, filters for our shop vac, legos, clothes, misc hardware, a light bulb (lol), a compass, and scissors.

The most we paid for any one item was $8.75 and that was for a brand new Belt Sander (retail $59.97).  We got the lego set for $5 (retail $45).  It was so fun!  If only we knew the schedule for 75% off clearance items, we might have a weekly trek to Wal-Mart.  😉  Of course, it took us a while to check out, because the cashier had to figure out the price of each item at 75% off (I guess they don’t have a button for that), and she didn’t have a calculator.  Matt did the calculations on his phone and she typed them into the register.  lol

  1. Man, think of me next time you hit a clearance sell like that…I am growing out of my pj pants, shorts and tank-tops! 🙂 YOu could always send them to me 🙂 especially if you get them for cheap 🙂 glad you were able to catch such a great sale

    • lol I’ll try to keep that in mind.

  2. Haha Matt had to figure out the prices for her. (No WONDER you got such good deals 😉 )

    • lol He was honest about it, but we were saying the same thing. He could have told her anything he wanted! lol
