This past weekend we had the annual youth group bonfire at our house.  To the slight disappointment of the teens, the fire wasn’t as big this year as it was last year.  It was still a pretty good size!

Lots of fun was had by all.  There was some volleyball played, some hiding in the soybean field, some roasting marshmallows (and Hannah decided to roast…everything:  cheese balls, graham crackers, soybeans, and..chocolate, until she was informed that chocolate doesn’t roast, it melts).

Before the crazy roasting began…

We had a nice devotion about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and even had some singing around the campfire (maybe next year, I can bring the chorus books).  We ended the night with a great game of manhunt.

Matt and I were out by the fire for a couple of hours after the activity.  The coals were soooo hot and so numerous that it took a while for it to die down.  It was so nice out there!  It was a great way to finish off the day.  🙂

At least an hour after we stopped feeding the fire, this is what it still looked like!
