Spring Break in California: Whale Watching

Our trip to California for Spring Break was so wonderful!  We had such a great time with family and friends.  We got in on Saturday night and went straight to In-n-Out.  🙂  So yummy!

Easter at my home church was so amazing.  Meeting old friends, singing with the congregation, listenting to my mom play the piano, enjoying the choir special, and listening to Pastor D preach.  It was so nice!  After church, my brother gave Matt and I a tour of the new building.  That was really neat also.

Monday morning, all the fam (minus my brother), headed down to Newport Beach to go whale watching.  The weather was a little chilly out on the water and though I had complained about bringing my jacket, once the boat got moving, I was really glad I had brought it!

The dolphins were really the highlight of whale watching.  They would swim right with the boat, jumping out of the water right in front of us.  It was pretty cool.  There were dozens of them!

I was slightly disappointed in the actual whale watching part.  Apparently we didn’t pick a good day for that.  This is the best picture I got (and the closest we got to the whale):

You can barely see his back in the bottom right. 🙂

However, in spite of the lack of actual whale watching, we had a great time with the family.  At one point on the ride, my nephew let go of his bag of fishy crackers and it blew away and hit another passenger in the face!  The passenger was a little upset at first until he realized that the little boy lost it.  Then he was laughing.  🙂
