6th Anniversary – Lexington, VA

My husband planned a nice little trip for us for our 6th Anniversary.  I can’t believe it’s been 6 years already.  Time really flies.  I love that guy more than I thought possible.

We headed out on July 4, Thursday afternoon to head toward Lexington.  I was super excited about this trip, and it was only made better by allowing me to use all my brand new Thirty-One products (the Retro Metro Weekender is amazing!).

The trip was really nice.  We did run into a bit of traffic, but it only lasted a few miles.

Matt had tried to make reservations for us as a really nice restaurant for dinner, but once we arrived in Lexington, we discovered that they were closed for the day.  So, he did the next best thing and made reservations at a different restaurant.

It was a snazzy place.  I was almost afraid to talk too loud.  🙂  We managed to mind our manners and use the correct silverware.

Our reservation was as 8:15pm with fireworks starting downtown at 9:30.  Our meals finally came at 9:10.  We made it out of the restaurant in time to see the first of the fireworks.  We drove to a gas station (oh, so romantic), and found a place to sit on a little brick wall.  It was fun to watch the fireworks, but they had nothing on our Slaughter Neck fireworks.  (Best firework show I have ever seen).

Due to rushing through dinner, we didn’t have time to order dessert.  So, we bought a Kit Kat at the gas station.  (Giggle).

It was a really fun fourth of July, with even better company.  🙂
